GQ front mount intercooler

Gday, new to this... Just curious if anyone has fitted a front mount intercooler to a GQ TD42?

hey bud i have a front mount cooler on mine
but its a dts package deal its designed for the gq with the cooler pipes
pointing in the right direction and mounting brackets to fit ,ill take some pics next week and post them up for ya

Thats about it. Ive fitted them at work before. Dont like barrel coolers as they split and leak internally......hmmm water in intake. NOT GOOD!

When using those coolers like on that GQ abouve you can actually fit it in behind the Grill with a small amount of triming with grinder or dremel ..... even with the air con condenser, i have done this a few times and just made the cooler piping custom, put the cooler upside down and make the brackets, either get the ally bends welded on the ends or use 90 degree silicone bends and the piping can just be made for the engine bay, it should go nicely up beside the washer bottle on the GQ, I have also fitted them to GU and can be put in just as stealthly, dont expect to pay anymore than 200 bucks for them, look around for them, I know a couple of ppl selling them for about that in Perth, Pm me if you need details

No offense intended, but that looks like a 2 dollar hooker did it on her lunch break, and yours is not the only one like this. Like said below it is very easy to get that size cooler in behind the stock grill.

good on ya! the cooler has less than 5 mm behind it against the air con condenser, and i'd need to cut the gill out to clear the highmount also, so i all went

doesn't mean they don't have fit, i have also done several without having to hack it up...but anyway if you like your balls hangin out for all to see no probs.

Cool. Thats sort of what i was thinking of doing. Bit of verification doesnt hurt tho! Do you reckon 2.5 inch outlets will flow enough? 3inch might flow better but may result in too much pressure drop.

There are 2 different grills that look the same. One has the fins connected front to back, the other at the back only. The latter has the fins fall out if you remove any material from behind the grill.

Keep it hidden if you can, if some one asks whats done to it say "Nothing, its stock".

by the time 2 driving lights and a high mount go in front of it, ya won't see much of it

Not to mention 500 tonnes of winch, spotlight and uhf wiring!! Got a schematic from PWR of there front mount intercooler so that will make life easier.
