Just wondering where people are getting there lockrites from and for how much? Is there any point buying fom the states or is someone locally doing them cheaper. Its for the front of a 1995 Hilux.

$499 plus postage from most retailers. Have a look in 4WDA magazine for some retailers.

Would prefer the original. Although most people say there is little difference between the two, it is somewhat reasuring to know you have the real deal.

Cheers guys, thanks for the input. So is there a wait for lockrites? im in sydney, I was hoping that I would be able to track one down by the weekend. I noticed that on the BBM website the price is $499 for the lockrite not Lokka. The Lokka Is $550- $599. I really want the original Lockrite (not trying to start a Lockrite vs Lokka battle). Is $499 the best price going around?

No idea. Mine is a 4WD Systems Lokka, had it delivered pretty quick so must have been in stock. I think anywhere around $500 is a fair price.

lokka

Post by jay3L »

Evski, I contacted 4wd systems at 10 to 5 on wednesday and worked nighshift. Went to bed and got up 10am on the thursday and the lokka was in the mailbox. Didn't even take 24hours and that came from SA to NSW. Good service.

^^ Don't ignore this post!

They will do the best deal, and for the real Lockright.

Call them up, and try negotiate a price. When i bought mine they had the best price to start with, and i called them up and negotaited even more off the price.

Apparently, they also offer good after sales service. Have heard of people who have had trouble fitting the lockright call them up, and locktup helped them through it.

Little off-topic, but i still haven't fitted mine. Its been sitting on top of my fridge for about 6 months. I was originally going to stick it in the rear, but changed my mind and welded the rear diff with the intention of fitting it to the front. But the welded rear is doing such an awesome job i haven't needed the front locked.

But if i go 4x4ing one day, get stuck and truly think to myself "a locked front end would have got me through that" It will be fitted within a week!
