Brothers old work, got the air lockers for $500 and installed with new bearings seals and needed some bits and pieces for another $600 odd.

Thats for 2 second hand ones.

If you new prices are abit steep for you search around for a good second hand lockers. Hiluxes are a popular vehicle so they pop up every now and again. Might take awhile but you can find reasonably priced unit second hand.

I bought mine for!

Front $600 in broken diff

Rear $900 in Good Diff

Both are the "new" lockers
I then bought the extra bit, compresor, lines, wirng, etc
and paid someone to put them in, and I did the wring and compressor mounting etc.

I now have F&R in my 80 for about $2000 complete

Other than that get on the phone and call ARB and some local 4by shops, get on ebay like everyone else!

i bought a locker for rear of an 80 last yr. paid $888+GST at ARB. so $967.
but thats not including install i had it done elsewhere for about $150ish?

but at tufftruck i watched a Scott with abit of help from todd and layto install the rear in my truck in just over an hr in a paddock basically.
so i think when they charge you $600 ish for an install at ARB they are raping you!

full install is compressor, electrics, diff oils, etc so yeah they will charge a bit.

I got quoted $330 from a diff place to install a locker center into my center if it was removed from the vehicle.

a little cheaper can be found. bear in mind that when your diff is pulled apart you may be advised to do bearing etc if yours are not 100%.

also check installed prices... some might be carry center into arb and get it fitted, some might be drive in drive out.

there is a reasonable amountof extra cost if drive in.

The install price seems ok to me, if its done by qualified mechanic, and comes with a warranty.

I would talk them down on the price of the locker though.

x2,

as mentioned above through a diff joint it was 330 to put it into my center, ie carry in the center once you have removed it. which for the rear is a piece of piss but for the front its a bit more work, easy once you have done it a few times but slow the first time.
