I'd be keen. What's the go with hub gears, do you have to run trail gear flanges to get warranty?
Re: dirty 30's
nah mate, its lifetime warranty just axles and cv'sdck7aok wrote:I'd be keen. What's the go with hub gears, do you have to run trail gear flanges to get warranty?
Re: dirty 30's
I'm getting hub gears cause they will be the next thing to go and I'd expect that the damage they cause to the CV won't be covered under warranty the same as you would have to do if you buy longs.outback_pootrol wrote:nah mate, its lifetime warranty just axles and cv'sdck7aok wrote:I'd be keen. Re: dirty 30's
my thoughts on that is if you get unbrakeable hub gears, then the next weakest thing to break is the diff, i personally would rather smash and replace 100 hub gears then 1 diff but thats just imohilux79 wrote:I'm getting hub gears cause they will be the next thing to go and I'd expect that the damage they cause to the CV won't be covered under warranty the same as you would have to do if you buy longs.outback_pootrol wrote:nah mate, its lifetime warranty just axles and cv'sdck7aok wrote:I'd be keen. WHO WANTS IT
I got clarification some time ago from TG in regards to this, as I thought it was a bit silly that they wouldn't stipulate running chromo hub gears or flanges for the lifetime warranty...RUFF wrote:Trail Gear will not warrenty the CV if the stock hub gears fails anbd takes out the splines on the CV. Which is guarenteed to happen if the hub gear fails. And it will eventually.
Their response was "No Questions Asked"
So that's their official response. No questions asked lifetime warranty regardless of whether you are running chromo hub gears or drive flanges.
However, it is strongly recommended you do run them aside from warranty reasons, as the reason you buy stronger stuff is so you spend more time wheeling and less time on the side of the track fixing busted parts

A well setup diff is alot stronger than a hub gear.outback_pootrol wrote:my thoughts on that is if you get unbrakeable hub gears, then the next weakest thing to break is the diff, i personally would rather smash and replace 100 hub gears then 1 diff but thats just imohilux79 wrote:I'm getting hub gears cause they will be the next thing to go and I'd expect that the damage they cause to the CV won't be covered under warranty the same as you would have to do if you buy longs.outback_pootrol wrote:nah mate, its lifetime warranty just axles and cv'sdck7aok wrote:I'd be keen. plenty of parts on the bench
seems weird hey, but below is the response from TG's sales manager.Willy Hilux wrote:Stripping the spline on the CV caused be the hub gear failing is not the CV's problem. I can't see that they will give you warranty on this failure.

If it strips the splines then break it in half and send it back for warranty. No questions ask!!

Subject: Dirty 30's Warranty
Hi John,
Just wondering if you guys are going to stipulate people have to run drive flanges or chromo hub gears for the lifetime warranty? I have had a couple of people ask, and I have been saying that whilst it is not a requirement for the warranty, it is strongly recommended.
What is the official response on this?
Cheers
Chris
