Well that is a bloody good effort on behalf of Coops. He is a great guy and having had the hospitality of his company at his home in Warragul can't think of a better guy to move up the ladder.

Yes will be interesting to get the results. Hope they come through soon.

we,ll all just have to wait & see !!

but congrats to everyone that finished !!
& to Greg , if he,s held the no 1 !!!

Well this news just spiced things up a bit  Hopefully presentation will be without controversy but it wouldn't surpeise me if there was some though

If Coops & Chris get 3rd place again I think Paul should keep the vehicle number 3 reserved for them as it just wouldn't look right on any other vehicle/team

How many 3rd place finishes have they had? I know it's at least 3.

Cheers, The Fish ;)

They have had 3 in the old rangie with Hummer driving & 3 in the hilux with Coops driving. 6 3rd's in 8 years of competing together, not a bad record.

Just on the phone with Andrew Norman, who competed with Ant Kilner and pulled out due to a lack of drive, and he is saying the presentation is at the Wilangee Property near Poolamacca so there will be no news for while as I doubt there will any phone reception out there :bad-words:

Well done to Greg, just a fun chap, been on two OBC and two Cliffhangers with him fanstatic news. And to Lawie and the larger of the two in Steve - well done. Dave Cameron and Daniel well done. Dave started a few years ago at the Cliffhanger and has'nt looked back. Great to see some new faces - the future of the sport.

Well done to all other competitors - just being there is an achievment, no matter where you finish.

Well done teams.

BIG Thanks to all who have contributed to the updates during the past week - it's a real PITA not being there to enjoy it with the competitors !!!

Dubbya and Fiddler came in a very credible 9th place - not a bad effort for a (Landrover) Mechanic and a foul mouthed rigger masquerading as a respectable businessman ;-)

Apparently yesterday was a fairly 'interesting' day for the boys - the motor decided to run VERY hot for a considerable period and MELTED (a) the oil return line on the Turbo (b) the throttle cable (is that a big deal ?) and (c) the cable on the gear shifter (auto) DUUOOOOOOHHHHH !!!!

With more than a hint of "Bush Mechanic" and some "they almost fit" type spares - in true OBC fashion - they patched, bodgee'd and fixed what they could !. Jeff has spent the past 2 days changing gears for Graeme via a lump of No. 8 fencing wire strategically attached to the selector directly through the floor of The Hulk ! Despite Graeme carrying a spare throttle cable (it must be a LandRover thing) the replacement cable turned out to be about a foot short so it had to be agriculturally engineered to fit too ... Apparently Graeme had to button off by lifting the loud pedal with his foot !!!!!!

After about 2 months off the Demon Drink Dubbya celebrated in fine style by "assisting" the Venezuelan's to demolish a large bottle of their country's finest Rum in double quick time (he's always willing to lend a hand that Jeff ! - What a great bloke !).

I doubt I'll get any sense at all out of Dubbya or Fiddler tonight so I guess I'll just kick back and wait for the photo's to show up now ...

Thanks again to all you dedicated OL Forumer's for the continuous updates this week. Go shout yourselves a beer !!

Vince.

C'mon....its 2009...how can we not have someone broadcasting results in real time...???? clearly we are all desperates, hanging on any sort of news.

Lucky to see Greg in OBC action a few years ago........a legend then.....a deserving legend today!!!

Was KillBill inside the Car - Bet Wally wished he was there.

Where did the Broken Hill Boys Come?

Thanks to all who have kept us up to date with photos etc. My wife and I have enjoyed going on line and reading about what is happening.

Having completed four cliffhangers and been in the last two OBC you cannot compare - both are great events - with different experiences - and are we not lucky to have two events?

Congrats to all competitors and the top 3 placegetters especially Greg who has had his share of breakages/disappointments and it's good to see him prevail

Not sure whether the results are correct though as it just doesn't seem right that Coops & Hummer have missed out on 3rd place :D

Time to start planning for next year and make sure I'm there as a competitor/marshal/spectator/media  Doesn't matter what it is, just have to be there

Cheers, The Fish ;)

P.S. Let me know when you win Powerball Adam

Thanks Scott, gotta be happy with fourth especially considering the calibre of competitors and trucks. Not bad for 23 year old Hilux.

just spoke to Rob
they came 5th , by only about 10 points from Coops & hummer !!
not bad , considering blew the turbo on wednesday , & no winch !!
& 2nd lat stage , 4 flats
& last stage , started to loose more power - top speed 20kmh
(now want even run at all !! getting it towed back to BH)
thinks huddy got 6th ,
but "farmtrk" is very 2nd hand , huge cracks in chassis !!
