you can fit 10.5's to an 8inch rim, but you wouldnt. 7 is perfect for 10.5

on an 8in rim you would fit 11.5 or wider.

you would be fine to do that.

not that many people care with 4wds, but the minimum tyre size for an 8" rim is 225. so a 10.5, which is basicaly a 265, really belongs on an 8" rim, but it doesnt really matter, especially not with a high sidewall where you wont notice it.

you can go as tall as you like, and probably as wide as you like aswell, it just starts looking a bit silly and the tyre acts very strangly when you get the tyre too wide for the rim.

Nearly everyone runs a 35 on a 8" rim. But I was told the other day that a 12.50" wide has to be fitted to atleast a 8.5" wide rim.

I think you will find most manufactures will reccomend the minium rim width for a 35x12.50R15, actually just checked the BFG site all 12.50" wide tyres. The rim needs to be 8.5"wide.

The 315/75R16 is only 12.3"wide and they do say it can go on a 16x8" rim.
