5.12 vitara front diffs in sierra

I am running 5.125 diffs in 90 model sierra after breaking both in one night run ,alloy casings fatigued and broke open damaging crown and pinion I am wondering if others have had problems, if it is worth puting 5.1 diff centre gearing into steel sierra centre casing ? Which ones fit ?do they need to be machined ? Any info really apreciated cheers

ive swapped the 5.12 ring and pinon in to the sierra steel carrier.
Machining is not required but you will have to put lockers in at the same time or else it is not worth the effort.

first mistake.....NEVER USE 5.1'S IN AN ALLOY HOUSING. in a cast sierra housing they will be fine, buy make sure pinion spacing is correct and a good diff pattern is acieved.
