Gearing down the Raider

Post by Nev62 »

I posted this to another forum but putting here again anyway...

Tried to find lower transfer case gears for the 93 Raider (B2600). No one could even tell me who made them let alone if lower transfer gears were avaliable. :?

Tried to get lower lower diff crowns and pinons, they don't come any lower (could be made $4000  )

Can anything be done with the gearbox

Does anyone know anything about moding these 4WD's?????

Only way to slow it down is to slow the idle speed down which is with a bigger donk.3.8l V6 dunny door $500 plus fitting $800 plus abaptore if their is such a thing. Otherwise buy a Suzuki or Toyota or Niisan that you can get rockhoppers for.
I'm the same as you but I kind of like having something that's a bit different to everyone else that's out there.
I want to compete in the stocker classes so I can't do any more than I have as much as I'd like rockhopper gears and diff locks.

With a B2600 you're as big as the engines in these go without aswapping so you can't do like a B2200-2600 swap.

You may be able to find alternate diff ratios, or that maybe an earlier model Mazda/Ford 4wd had a shorter transfer case gearset.

You can get your own cut... but that will be expensive.... or if you have room in your driveline a second transfer case in line.

Know the feeling as I have the option of Rockhopper gearsets, but it seems a big $$$ to cough up

It's always possible - it just coems down to money and desire. :D
