hilux sway bar disconnects
hi can anyone help me with disonnecting the front swaybar on a ifs hilux? any help and ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Just remove it, permanently, doing so will increase wheel travel as i'm sure you know and thats why you want to do it, but it will cause wear on the cv's and boots through the increased articulation , on raod you'd have a little more body roll nothing that is dangerous or ridiculous, nor should it cause to many cv problems, but more articulation in the front puts alot more stress on the cv's in an ifs lux, especially with bigger tyres or a locker.
Havn't had to much to do with ifs luxs, but you could probably drill a hole through the thread where it mounts to the chassis big enough for a removable pin to sit in and hold the sway bar while on road, and pull the 2 pins when going off road.
