RA Rodeo Largest tyre Possible

Post by prontozuk »

Hi All,

I have done a bit of search and reading several pages into the GMH/Isuzu part of the forum and nothing real jumps out at me in regards to my question below.

Those RA Rodeo owners what is the largest tire size you have been able to fit underneath the tray in the standard wheel carrier.

As I am thinking of going from 245/70/16 LT BFG ATs to 265/75/16 LT BFG ATs or similar in a Dueler D694 or Cooper ATR

Thanks James

Am currently running 265 70 16 bfg A/T with no worries. Still plenty of room around the spare wheel and find that the extra width means i do some times touch it before my tow bar on some of the up and downs.

40mm body lift coming and will be running 285 75 16 MTZ's or STT's shortly.

Will post the results.

:D Got it done today. 33"s on my RA - Will post pics shortly

285/75/16 Mickey Thompson MTZ's

The change to 33's included 2" suspension, 40mm Body, Remove front Mudflaps, small trim to plastic gaurd, and a must was sticking to the standard +38mm offset rims. Need also to mod the steering stops to prevent a very slight rub on the sway bar under full lock. (havent done this as its not a major issue).

To get the spare under i removed two locating plates that position the spare in the middle. 2 x 12mm nuts and all fixed. Only just fits though.

Very happy with the results

We ended up going with 265/70/16s Bridgstone D694LT. Done 5000kms on them of both sloppy wet mud stuff and dry freeway and I am very pleased with them. In the sloppy wet mud they kept up with other cars with BFG all terrains without the excessive road noise. My speedo was out by atleast 3% now it almost spot on.

Thanks James
