Auto electrical work????

Hi all,
I am thinking of having some electrical work done to my Diesel Zuk.
The reason for this is the amount of spare wires and minor electrical problem i have been having . I also want more room in the engine bay to make life easyer in the long run. I would do the work myself but i am traveling and want my zuk to be tip top when i get back and just drive it.
I want to move most or all of the electrical stuff moved to behind the front seats in a box.
I want a dual battery set up with a monitering system and kill switch installed. In the same area i want the fuses and realys for simple problem shooting when needed.
I will probley be having the work done in the Newie or hunter valley and is there any places that anyone has used and came recomend.
Can any one tell me a ball park figure for this work to be done. Would be apperciated so i know a ruff figure , for when talking to shops. I dont mnd paying more for good work.
Also will i need to tell them to soilder the work or do you think that crimping is better. I have had a few problems in the past.

Hey mate,
I specialise in doing this type of work. Without seing the car its hard to say but would prob recomend a full re-wire on the vehicle this will allow all the fuses an relay's to be mounted where you want them. (this is what i do on comp trucks and race cars)
If crimping is done with the correct tools and correct size terminals there should be no need to solder. Infact i recall reading in one of the catalogues (quikcrimp i think) That they advise not soldering as this can make the joint more prone to failure.
However any wires to be joined or spliced should be soldered.

Ballpark i would think around the $1500 to $2000 mark to do the job properly (ncluding dual battery controller, etc)

However I m on the sunshine coast, QLD. so may be a bit to far away for you.

Thats about what i expected, I am want to set the zuk up to have fun and latter do comps. Thanks for the reply, gives me some think to work with.
