Whats it Worth??? 85 Shorty Paj

Post by phat-customs »

Going to look at an 85 Mod (nb/nc) shorty pajero on the weekend, just wanting to know what people think its worth as I have no real idea, and only redbook.com.au to go off, and comparible cars on carsales.com.au.

Its nothing flash, pretty much stock as a rock, obligitory bullbar and tow bar, big bigger muddies with say 40% tread, IS daily driven, has had rear LS diff replaced, and I believe transfer has also been replaced, 185 kays for memory, pwr steer but NO Air Con :-( Oil changes and the like have been pretty regular.

Its the 2.6 astron 4cyl has had new timing chain and water pump, battery etc.

The dude is asking 3500 is this about right, or should I be paying less???

Cheers Guys

If the k's are genuine, that is very low - but I think 3500 sounds high. Poor examples are (I believe) available well below $2k, and this is a vehicle approaching 25 years old.

I think mid $2k would be reasonable, but that's not a real educated opinion.

Mate $3500 is rather steep i wouldnt be paying much more than about 1500 to 2000 for a veichle of this age depending on condition. 2.6lt are a good reliable moter to and when extracted produce exeptable power.
