December 15th i called sam from overkill
and ordered the axle and 2 lower links

after lots and lots of phone calls
being told numerous times that the axle and link have been sent.

i am still yet to see anything from him

 awesome customer service 6 months on and nothing delivered

so apart from the lower links on the rear and the long side axle in the rear the buggy is all done
sounds like the standard story for sam i'd say start collecting door nobs get an old pillow case and go on a road trip

Are they parts made by overkill? Are they paid for?

Was going to say try ordering from another company. Judging by the posts here, people shouldn't be supporting Overkill anymore if that's how they look after customers.

There are plenty of people chasing parts or money from Overkill, I have two mates that are in that position at the moment. I certainly wont be getting anything from them.

Cheers

im suprised this thread has gotten this far... usually by now anything about overkill has been swept under the carpet for the next unsuspecting person to stumble along wondering where their parts/money are.

as much as there may be legal reasons behind the owners of the forums removing negative feedback about a company, surely theres a way to rate businesses??? even a poll? start a closed thread called "overkill engineering" with a star rating so customers can give the place a rating out of 5... this could be done for a load of places we get our gear from and avoid the slagging matches that always go down.

never gunna happen..

one person can have a beef with a company personally and sh!t can them and cost them business for no reason when in fact they are actually a reputable company..

in short yes. but where have you pulled those assumptions from?

they may have a mill in the bank and just bad customer service. not answering phones and slow delivery do not = insolvency. although they can be a factor.

I'd be very careful chucking around accusations of insolvency without any actual proof. Pretty big leap to make to accuse someone of breaking the law. As stated badservice does not equal insolvency or breaking the law. This is now becoming a perfect example of why these threads get deleted very quickly

it's more to do with getting anyone on this site involved that's all. these days you have to be careful and the owners of this website can be held accountable by the actions and words of forum members, so it just pays to be careful and not get too deep into it that's all.

farrrrrrrrrrrrk me....

isnt this what public forums are about, letting people have a say. If 1 person comes out and bashes a good company, it wont take long for others to come to that companies defence. If 10 people are coming out and giving negative feedback, its usually for a reason........

Hows this....

Overkill is perhaps the last company in Aust that has existed for any decent amount of time thats is doing full on custom 4x4 fabrication. There were lots of them 5 or so years ago but none of them are around any more. The game they are in isnt easy...history has shown this to be true.

So Overkill must be doing something right.

It always surprises me that some people can have difficulty getting service from companies when hundreds of other people dont...for it me its either that these people are just unlucky, they are unreasonable or for some other reason they just have trouble interacting with an established company to get a decent result.

And for some reason threads like this one always tends to draw out the people who have an inability to get decent service.

Agreed Sam, but at the same time:

"And for some reason threads like this one always tends to draw out the people who have an inability to get decent service. "

Ordering and paying for parts that aren't received for months? There should be no trick to that from the consumers end. If Sam can't meet the demands, tell the people before accepting orders (unless he did for the numerous cases - which reverts back to your post, but a bit coincidental.)

I've only had one dealing with OE, and while it's not a positive one (apart from price) I'm not into slagging on forums, never have nor will.

where's the tech in this?

anyway, very rarely you hear people making an effort to say how happy they are with a business etc. Its always those who haven't had a good experience normally due to their own faults that somehow find the time to bag out a company. It's just the australian way! have a whinge!

waiting six months for parts is out of line though. Also waiting around a month for parts might be justified dependant on suppliers etc. Often there's more to the story than what is played out on the forums...

thats exactly it, i have found out that the guy i was talking about got his money back through the bank (must have paid by goldcard), but waited months for nothing so is now going to have a go at getting the part made himself, not real great business there
If you can't supply the goods, then don't offer them

EDIT by Strange Rover

Link Deleted

Keep your shiat stirring to your self...we try very hard to keep this sort of crap out of this site and for the most part we do a decent job.

Linking to this sort of crap on another forum is a different approach and we dont want that here also. If you want to stir crap do it on the other site...dont do it here.
