9.5 inch diff in an 80 or 79 series

Hi Guys, Has anyone put the bigger/stronger 9.5 inch front end in their 80 or 79/78 series cruiser? I have an HZJ79 and want to put the bigger front end in it - but not sure how to rig the tie rod/pan hard mounts.

Pics and any help would be appreciated.

You can put a nissan gu front diff complete in them with special arms....they r stronger in the gears....you are probably better off putting a solid spacer in yours with an arb locker. Yours has 5 studs, nissan 6

I have the ARB locker in mine now but and really hating the 5 lug pattern - it is impossible for me to get wide rims here in canada for big tires. I'd really like to get rid of the weak ring and pinion though.

I thought for sure that someone has swapped in the stronger front end - they are accessible to me easy here.

If you just want the 6 lug stud pattern, how about swapping your hubs/discs etc with 80 series parts? might be easier and cheaper....

Look for a high pinion 9" (true high nine). I have never seen it done and you could fit 2 nissans for the price.
