gday, ive just purchased some v shackles do put on the rear of my 94 sierra, ive been told that you dont put them on the front, why is that ?

What the f are v shackles?

if they are wacky style etc then do a search.

well its just that ive been told by the bloke that supplied them to me said dont put them on the front but on their comp lwb sierra he has them on the front and the back, there almost like a small scissor shackle from piranha .

if theyre pinned shut they will act just like a normal shackle and there wont be dramas... he might have been referring to if theyre open they can twist a fair bit under steering loads and potentially be dangerous?

yer true, there not relaly long though and there a nice 5mm thick steel so and there done by piranha so that good quality

From what I have read, they may or may not accidently 'open up' when cornering, adding to body roll and making steering dangerous.

he didn't no the answer he only new what they were.
from what iv seen there just drop shackles
iv seen plenty of trucks with them in the front but the ones iv seen they pin up when on road and unpin for off road for that reason that they turn and twist.

yer they kinda lock dowon when just when driving but when you go offoad and articualte they drop so ill put em on the front and see if there alright if not take em off
