Hey, My name is Matino and I came to Au few months ago and since even in my country Australia is well known as a great 4x4 place I bought yesterday 1992 pajero swb 3.0 v6 softtop with 165k on the clock. I cant wait to go 4wd driving but its winter season here and its good time to prepare my ride for suck a trip. I like to think that i know a lot about cars but unfortunately not much about 4x4. Im a quick learner and pretty good in manual things so DIY shouldn`t be a problem for me.. but someone have to show me or at least explain how to do it etc. so go to the point...
I notice few things in my car that need attention.
1. when I engade 4x4 4HLC and 4LLC and turn the wheels to do the U-turn I feel like rear wheels dont turn. its like they stuck or something
2. I notice that 4wd indicators (exactly front wheels indincators) are blinking all the time.
Any advice how to fix it would be appreciated, and if someone could recommend me some honest 4x4 workshop in Brisbane which won`t rip me off only because Im not Australian as I need to replace water pump and timing belt would be also highly appreaciated. Dont have to nesecary a workshop if there is some "handyman" on this forum. I would love to give a hand also will pay the fair price as its a new experiance for me to work on 4x4 and Im always willing to learn...
well hope to get some answers from you guys.. and thank you in advance..
Matino
P.S. sorry for my english..[/img]

1) Don't turn on hard surfaces in HLc or LLc. It is for off road only and the funny feeling is what you'll expect on a hard surface. Do some slow complete circles on sand or gravel in 4H and then 4HLc then look at the marks you left and you'll know what I mean.
2) try there for your flashing lights, it is the best article on the fix. Start with the vacuum solinoids and actuator shaft.

Flashing lights
Hi Guys
As for the flashing lights I had mine doing the same thing (1993 3ltr V6 LWB) now mine sorted its self out after some water and some mud now the only time they flash is when I go from 4x4 to 2x4 if you drive down the road and then back off I stops flashing it just tells you it is partly in but not locked fry moving backwards and forwards and see what happens, also check the connections on the solenoid I un plugged mine and sprayed with WD-40 then re-connected them. mine still plays up now and again but I just play around with the 4x4 lever till it locks in. and last but not least check your gearbox mounts I have one broken and this could be the problem I haven’t had time to change it.
Have fun
