Help! fuel not showing!

Help! fuel not showing!
Went for a romp on saturday in the mud and went through a mud hole not to deep, when i came out the other side my fuel gauge was showing empty! i dont know what happened and i drove all the way home so it wasnt telling the truth. just wanting to know where to look first
Dependant on what model you drive and what size tank is fitted you usually have about 9l left when the low fuel light illuminates
There is your new fuel gauge, I have known of someone using a piece of dowel in the tank on there series.
Gauges are not that much.
I'd say your sender unit has discovered the pleasure of the rooster

It rubs the lotion on it's skin or else it gets the hose again
rip up the rear carpet and look at the top of the semder unit and the electrical connecter especially. mine has corroded to the point that it has cracked the plastic connector... results in a shit electrical connection. Unfortunately my sender works a treat - its the un expeccted loss of fuel that annoys me!!!
even when you spell out commonsense to the RTA they still ignore it!
you may have just knocked of or broken a wire to the sender. run a continuity tester from wiring at the tank to the wiring at the gauge to make sure its in tact first. don't take my word for it but i think full tank is nearly dead short to earth. I tried it on mates and it made the gauge jump!
