Finally got my hands on one. :D :D Pickk it up saturday and bring it home to begin working for RWC
Anyway the details. 78 2 door, lt95, duel bty set up, winch bar and rear step (don't much like the bars looks but it'll be a start  ), long range tanks? and koni shocks all round. Tidy enough inside and out for a car as old as me

Anyway big thanks and thumbs up to 80diesel4play, gave me a run down on the ones he had checked out and even had a look at this one for me before I drove down to Melb my self, Cheers mate

Will post picks when I get them taken and scanned.

Thanks Anthony,
Have seen your probs, one of the reasons I wanted the 4 speed is I've been smashing them in work cars (Army 110's) for 8 years and I ain't broke shit yet. It is true we treat them like rental cars.

Ahh so you did get that one too eh...

Not a bad unit - I didn't like the kill switch... at least the diffs are tight!! It is tidy but they could have washed the mud from underneath - nice console though!

Mine just passed its RWC last night - woo hoo!!! Thank gawd for that!!

No probs Thonger - hope it works out for you - pics would be good!

Well the fun has just begun, to say the least..

P.s. Like we did to Paulo's, fix the oil leaks first as oil farks everything when it's on the outside.

Will get picks on sat when I pick it up. Plan to go over it fairly thouroughly myself. Any tips on where I can get some bits. First up is a windscreen washer bottle, as it currently has a coke bottle there  and bonnet catch. Also brake pads, pick them up from repco?

Oh and paul it still hasn't been washed, but I got it for 1500,

Thonger - catch u when you pop by bloke - We got side tracked 2 nite as the overall plans for the Ute project have altered a little.

Diffs wil run standard 80W/90 oil - don't go fancy just change it often. I thin kyour 4 spd either runs Auto fuid or engine oil - either way its damn light gear oil and don't be shy of running some Moreys through it...

The car looks like its seen work - so give it a good 2 oil changes in the engine within 2000kms to be sure...

Otherwise - chat away tomorrow and catch you then.... :D

Got home and washed it with the garden hose, think I now have an extra 2 inches of top soil were it was parked on the grass.

Leaks, what makes a rover a rover, frount diff input seal and transfercase rear output. :D Lovely. Somewhere on the block as well, but need to clean with some degreaser first to id the spot..
Where to get seals? Prefer some place that might send them to me to save the drive south again.

But ran sweet all the way back to pucka. Speedo out by a fair bit though. ANy ideas it has 31 inch tyres? is this the culprit :?

My main worry is this tyre, don't know if it'll pass rwc like this, otherwise I would have been happy to destroy these tyres in the next few months.

Have been odering parts from four wheel drives in melb, and they're damm quick at getting them out to me, placed one wendsday night, they answered at 7 the next morning and bits were here today. :D So I am pretty happy with their service and the catalouge is tops.
That's my free plug, been under it for the last 2 arvo's replacing seals and oil, I hate getting gaskets off, and I now use degreaser to wash my hair.
Hopefully will be rego and rolling soon.
