75 series Crruiser Windscreen Rust

Post by wosat »

Guys,

I have a 1992 75 series cruiser ute with fairly bad rust at the bottom of the windscreen.

Has anyone had it fixed and do you have a ballpark figure for the repair?
Also, I have been told that you can buy fibreglass repair sections for this area.
Any idea where I could get these from?

Cheers,

you can buy replacement window surrounds for about $250.

But when you take the old window surround out the lower frame will just fall apart.

I have just completed a repair on my 75 series tow vehicle that was rusted under the window real bad.

I cut off all the rust and the old lip, got a new profile bent up $15 and welded it on.

Some bog and a new paint job $200 and its sweet as

I've also just completed the same repair. You will probably find the lower section is rooted when you pull the screen out. And possibly the tops of the door pillars gone too. I put all new steel in and a fibreglass surround, no more rust in that area now!
