MQ shortie electrical dramas...

Post by carts »

The mq started normally, but when it was switched off, it wouldn't turn off. The motor kept running as if the keys hadn't been switched off. In order to turn the car off, we could either manually control the pump or disconnect the 24V regulator. With the regulator disconnected the car turned on and off normally, except that it did not charge. But when the regulator was connected, it seemed to back feed the loom and keep the ignition energised even when it was switched off. If the regulator was left connected, even with the car off, the charge light remained on, and various other lights and instrumentation remained energised.

With the car running and the regulator connected, the car charged and operated normally!

Has anyone got any ideas?

Cheers
Aaron
