what material do you guys recomend for making shackles
grades of steel and sizes etc

depends on the car, but 10mm on my hilux

ive used 50 x 10 mm mild steel with big brace in middle
but i have been told mild steel is no good
just wondering wat steel ppl use

Mine are just mild steel 6mm s 50mm with i think 8mm x 40mm brace in the middle. Only been in for a few weeks but no dramas yet.

ill get a pick of mine
mine are 3 inches longer than standard
gives me inch and half lift
but i also have coil helpers in the rear of mine so its higher than standard
mine look huge

I used 50x8 flat bar mild steel, 2" lift. Didn't put a brace in. Been ok so far..... :)

Soooo cheap too. $10 for steel.

Mine are 50 x 12 mm with some 25x 50 RHS as a brace in the centre

Get 10mm plate, and do yourself a favour and cut them in a triangular pattern and use three crush tubes and bolts to make them anti inversion
