For all those competing - heres a small reminder!

Please - Install incab video cameras (The best ones to use are minidv cassette cameras).

If you have a cam and supply us with footage we will get you on the DVD - what a keep sake that would be!

Cheers ;)

I love it when a system works.

All those on standby have now purchased 2nd hand entries and at this stage I am not aware of anyone else wishing to sell their entry, nor any others waiting on standby.

A very real reminder to spectators / families / supporters who have not yet filled out forms and paid. If we dont receive your spectator details and payment before Mid June you wont be fed. Mainly becasue Kev needs numbers for catering and his list closes on June 19. Kev is being paid before the event starts to feed only those on the list.

By the way, the property has had more rain than usual for this time of year so I expect we are in for a treat.

Still wanting a semi trailer for a stage. Anyone thinking of transport? We might be able to contribute to your costs.

What might this trailer be used for Hobzee and whats on offer? I have a mate who might be able to help you, it could be the last thing I need to get him over the line on coming to Cliffhanger to spectate!

The semi would be used as a stage for daily briefings, band, presentation, etc.

For anyone wanting to sell their entry I believe Nunzio from Venezuela wants to enter - contact Adam at Ironman (03 9532 1111) or Mick Hingerty for Nunzio's contact details.

OK we now have 250 people to feed - that's as many as Kev can manage. New spectator applications will be received but from now on they will be without food and $50 less.

Mozzy Pit is 12 feet deep so I guess we wont be using it this year...

We are making a late change to scoring technique. If any cars finish a stage within .25 of a second of each other they will be deemed to have the same time. Until we have electronic timing systems we cant rely upon fingure speeds to split times under a quarter of a second.

woops,

try this one, you can choose any of these i think there all NextG. Telstra shows the "tick in a blue circle" on phones they recomend for regional areas.

http://shop.telstra.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... ryId=30920

The one we have is the samsung C5220. Its a flip phone that is probably not ideal for the situation but our tradesman haven't killed it yet!!

For the record we are bringing a 165i for the cliffhanger but thats because my co-driver already has it. Its a real "bushy" phone so would suit this application perfectly and if this is the way event comms is going it would be worth considering.

both the C5220 and the 165i are recomended for use outside of regional centres and towns which is ideal for white cliffs (hopefully!!!!!). There are others but i think there a fair bit dearer so it depends on your situation.

I have nothing to do with Telstra by the way so dont hate me!!

Rumour has it, that if we knew who this other "gentleman" was, he might be taking a trip through the dessert.. like over the dunes..... wonder if he'll stop and take a break on big red????

Allegedly.........he would be stopping for a crank  ....oops I mean break. Anyway maybe we should now leave him alone to his dirty deeds in the sand.

Hobzee you will receive a call from the man with the semi for your stage, hopefully you guys can work out the details, offer him beer and he'll do anything.

truck

Post by Hobzee »

Pete Scanlon has a semi tautliner he can take to Cliffhanger and take 3 cars at $1500 ea return trip. He is in the Geelong area.

You can call Pete on 0407841059. He doesn't have his own car - just wants to come up and have a look see and prepared to take his truck off the road for a week if we have 3 takers. I am putting up $1500 too for the use as a stage if this truck goes up.
