Radio and UHF not working help

Post by GU-ish »

hey all
my radio and uhf are not working in my car the uhf is wired into the constant so it could be turned on whenever. i have checked the "radio" fuse under the steering wheel and that is fine. also checked the fuses in the UHF and Radio themselves.
are there any fuses anywhere else? or any ideas on what it could be??
listening to the MTZ is killing me lol

thanks

get a multi meter, use it ;) check that you have in fact got power +12v and that ground is ground - plenty of people bugger that up, e.g. wire the ground to the headlight/dashlight power - it runs ground when lights are off and +12v when they're on, so the radio only works when lights are off.
Get 2 cables and wire the radio directly to the battery, not sure what else i can say, fault finding etc.
There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots

yeh i mite have to give it more a look into. there was a switch that was also wired in that turned reverse lights and camera on. i think thats where the trouble started cuz i broke that.
there is just alot of wiring going everywhere on this car that was all on it when i brought it.

Check the earth mate.

Keep the acc wire in and just run a constant from the battery and see if it starts up.

If not, just run a couple new wires and get rid of the old dodgy crap.

It was working on the weekend wasn't it?
