92 vitara diffs

Hey guys only new to this site and not sure where or how to use this site ( computer illeterate ) basically i have 92 vitara 1.6 carb 3inch body lift, 3 inch spring lift 2 inch wheel spacers and hancook 31in muds and want to know whats out there in the way of lockers for these little bad boys to help out a little more any advise well be gratefull cheers guys

ARB rear air lockers are availiable for them both front and rear. Also most auto lockers mate. It all depends on how much you want to spend

If you want to run a front locking diff of any description you will need to source a steel front axle housing and 3rd member from a manual V6 grand vitara or XL-7.

with your setup as described you will break the front alloy housing easily.

thats a good starting point saved some coin there with that advice so i take it the grand and xl are same diff only steel right? also whats a 3rd member?

transmission/ transfer= 2nd member
diffs= 3rd member

isn't the 3rd member what the yanks call a pinion carrier, it's the bit that holds the ring & pinion.

there are 2 types of steel carriers from the GV's one will bolt straight up & one will require some fab work

this thread shows the 2 different types of mounts.
