hey guys i was wondering if you can up grade a altnator for a gq rb30 if you any one can help out that would be great

Quick answer is yes, a Bosche one has been used but I can't help with specifics. Actually talk to some autoelectricians for prices as it can vary alot (I use to work for one) I have a 140amp I modified with the help of my mate to fit. One of the best mods done! But mines a tb42.

i put a VT commodore 5.0 V8 alternator on mine

it fit with just a few little mods and different pulley.
they are a beefy and fairly common alt i think 120 or 140A
