Hey
Want to know what people are using when making their own drive shafts. Was gunna use square 50x50 5mm inside 65x65 6mm but it still leaves a few mm slop?
What other people run?
Cheers

Have to put a spline in it and all I guess.
Mines 50x50x5 and 40x40x4 and its got a bit of play but I have given it a flogging and its going perfect.
I just in a 1/8 BSP grease fitting, welded over the end of the 40x40 and pumped it full of grease, makes no noise.

Are you using the 40x40x4 as a slip joint inside the 50x50x5 instead of a spline connection?

works very well. except with 50x5 you need to "machine" a groove into the 40x5. i prefer 50x4 and 40x5, makes less work. as for dodgey, who cares, it works and well. just vibrates a bit if you need to limp home on front wheel drive.
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown

Just run a bead of weld down one edge of the smaller tube, then grind it until it a snug fit, but still allows the tail shaft to go in and out.
