jimny power upgrade Qu's

Post by y0di »

jimny 2001 soft top auto series II G13B, the vehicle in question

ive asked repowering questions before which went down a path of:

fit a G16B, and adaptor.

fit a G16B with jimny head to minimize wiring conflict, and adaptor.

fit a G16B and vitara auto trans (cause i like auto), cause the jimny one most likely wont stand 30% hp and torque increase, and adaptor to transfer.

now the current question is; if the G16B block and jimny head path was done, coupled with a Vitara auto trans and adaptor to transfer. what would need to be done to have the auto operate successfully with the jimny electrics. (don't the autos (jimny and vitara) have their own computers??)

since all the motor electrics should remain stock, or near enough to, how to mate the vitara auto computer to the jimny engine computer??

thanx will.

sounds like a plan, do u have any further directions, or specifics for me to follow?

do the two trans computers have similar wiring colours??

is it just a matter of removing the pins (wires ) from the jimny trans ecu plug, and refitting required ones to the vite trans ecu plug??

is there more to it than just matching wires, and signals??

will.

remove the jimny auto ecu and replace with the vit version.

here is my own diagram for conversions with vit motors. get a jimny wiring diagram and substitute the vit ecu for the jimny. if its too small let me know and i will pm a pdf version.
