qestion any help be grate

Post by matthewK »

i got the landy grate car but not so good for the driver side door

when i use the key to unlock the door i need to leave the key in fully turned to open position to be able to open the door from both inside the car as well as out side door handles, even when i lock the door from inside the cab and unlock it i still cant open the door with out inserting the key into the door and turn it to open it,

now the keys i have also are brand new key cuts as the origonal key has broken in half

any ideas on the subject

while im at itwhere best place to get passenger side sunvisor? for the 1996 landy disco?

cheers guys

Not exactly sure from your description.

Small spring that lifts the inside lock button is a well known problem (not one I have experienced). From memory the buttons drop down a little after being unlocked.

You can probably find more in the projects and tutorials section on http://www.aulro.com

There is another known problem with central locking of some models due to a poor soldered joint on a circuit board - you will find the fix method on that site as well.

Rangie Spares (Les Richmond Automotive) in Thomastown should be able to help with a sunvisor, don't know of anyone closer to you off the top of my head; check the thread at the start of this forum "Landy Parts Suppliers"....Chris.

hey guys

sunvisor done cost me 55 bucks

i had a closer look at the problem i replaced the spring anyways

whats happening is that whe i turn the key towards the front of the car its unlocked, then when i turn it 90degress back to take the keey out its relocking it self

so either the key lock it self is not right or the locking mech inside the door isnt right
or the brand new key that was cut which looks diff from the origonal
but the new key open passenger side no worries and back door

what to do what to doo?? need it working for a road worthy any ideas?

ps: the spring i got from Ritter :P those who are looking for springs

So it still does this after replacing the spring :?

There is another thing you should try.

Because the door lock mechanism is outside the door seals, they get dust inside the mechanism. In my experience, when this happens, it is difficult to open the door from the outside.

Get the door open and spray lots of WD40 or similar everywhere you can get at the door lock mechanism.
