Hey guys
Lookin at doing a 2in body lift on my 99 GU ute. just after some help on things they may need to be extended, cut, moved, bent ect ?
would be great

i'm pretty sure that all the nuts are captive on a gu which is good if you can find 2" longer bolts with the same thread.
just look under the bonnet and see what goes from the body to the chassis or drive train most likely a longer clutch line, brake lines and maybe your shroud around you fan.
might need to cut the floor around the low range lever as i know in a gq it hits the floor.
nissan 98 gu 5" lift 37 creepys, 80%reduction gears, front locker and a gen3 and no money.

cheers mate, Done a bit of reading, is a boody lift a good idea, will it put to much stress on the mounts and floor ect ??
do many people do body lifts in gu utes

the only time I've seen people doing body lifts on gu Utes was 30mm to gain enough room to put bolt on sliders. A suspension lift is always going to achieve more. Body lift is a last resort for the main purpose of Tyre fitting. It wont do any damage to the cab so long as is plated neoprene or alloy.

thats the main reason im doin it, little bit more clearance for 35s, only running a 2in spring lift at the moment.

36 Swampers with sagged 3inch.. 35's should be easy without body lift.

it baffles me why you read all the people on patrol forum, "WHAT 5-6-7-8 INCH LIFT SHOULD I GET TO RUN 35's".. they think they are driving Morris 1100's..

do a search for 'gu tray build' and have a look at my car. Has 2inch body and 2 inch susp with 35s and sliders

just get radius arm spacers to push the front diff forward.problem solved and cheaply
