33 or 35 aggressive tyres
If you have standard front CVs and axles I'd stick to 33s. Your Cvs will pop with 35s.
Maybe a compromise. When my zook is running it runs on 34" (really 33.6") Super Swamper LTBs. Great tyre for a zook, really grippy rubber compound, not too noisy and doesn't look out of place on a sierra.
Ajsr has also just put them on his...he loves them by all reports.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of silverstones. (never owned them - toyed with buying some of the silly 36" directional military ones though) but if you mean the centipede copies I reckon they got a bit carried away and made them a bit too voidy.

In some (summer) conditions, my swampers will get owned off road by all terrains. Aggressive tyres only work in some situations. Simex's are an excellent example. They rule on slippery clay hills, but they just straight out suck on rock.
Don't misunderstand mcwilly - that silverstone pattern is INSANELY loud.
I won't comment on "looks aggressive" but to say if that's a consideration then buy whatever you like the look of.

I am happy enough with my Simex centepedes, they are great for deep sloppy mud and go pretty well on rocks. They aren't the best out there but are a good compromise for a car that sees 50/50 mud and rock.

i like a few tyres out there im just getting the opinion of others im interested in the silverstones yes , hence why im asking about them. if everyone said they were shit id rethink. i also dont know alot of offroad tyres as i have been more into performance cars so getting some general info. im just trying to absorb it all and then make a decision. i have seen cetepedes in action b4 havent seen many of the others except iroks etc at tough truck but thats a totally different situation.

IMHO the more you do "a bit of everything" the more you need swampers.
That's entirely my opinion, but I've been driving on swampers for 17 years. I'm yet to see something to change that opnion, and I've never heard anyone whose run swampers in good condition, in the right size for their car ever complain about their performance offroad.

Unless you can find a local supplier of MT-117 extremes in 35 who has them at hand they aren't available at the moment. Still prob 2 months off. currently in production in malaysia.

Hey bru i pimped on 33x14.5 boggers for a bit ran a couple laps of killy and found that the tyres were pulling the steering They were the perfect size for the trailgears 6.5s. Were freaken noisy as onroad and make my hubs fall apart...lol I would stick to a quality brand of tyre. The cheaper rubber tendes to have very stiff side walls that are fine under a cruiser but not under ours. 31x10.5MTR wranglers bags really well under our light weight, NIKs 35claws get around town at 15psi no side wall flex.
But to give my opinion on your question. Bigger tyres won't make you go any further. Aggressive 33s will get you most places, 35s will leave you with a broken truck thats too unreliable to drive into the bush and drive out the other side. That being said tim hardy (U.S) zook guru runs 35s on zook diffs but has cut his own axle splins into volvo truck axles with a grinder and did the first virtuial lift. So ican be done.

A. You can make zuk diffs last running 35's hard .. reasonably easily as well.
B. Tim's axles are a hybrid of vit centres, custon machnined dana 44 side gears, subaru CV's and a few other bits .. This setup has been run sucessfully for at least 10 years from memory before alot of the other heavy duty stuff was available.

WRT the Silverstone Extremes:
On road behaviour as said by some others is really rather hideous. I can tolerate them, but could not tolreate them on the vehicle for my normal commute etc. Thaey really murder fuel economy and performance too.
Off road, first of all I'll say I have no experience with any of the other tyres metioned in this thread so cannot make a comparison to them; I only have 31" Silverstone Extremes. I really think allot of people unfairly bag these tyres offroad perfromance, they are not perfect, but they are pretty good IMO. They grip rocks, gravel, dirt, honestly anything Ive driven over. The only time I have not been staisfied with their grip was on very wet black soil and because I was going slow they would not self clean and give the traction I needed.

Piss the body lift off - virtual lift it. SPOA and body lifts do not go together.
Some 34 LTB swampers would be perfect, then see how you go with driveline strength. If you bust a CV or two, fit some double toughs.

i have Silverstone Extremes on my use for every thing sierra and have done
at least 10000ks on them and think they are the perfect tyre for use in the

the front bar is modded to suit body lift so not really an option. biggest thing stopping me so far is size whether 34 actual size will fit or whether 33s are better option. i think i hav decided on mt117 extremes if i can fit a 34.5 actual size without cutting. if not then ill have to decide between 33 pedes or 34 swampers if they fit also
Hey McWilly... Just don't get Baja Claws... They suck! They don't self clean as a zook doesn't have enough power (refer to the pic below) I'm running 33 x 11.5 x 15 Simex Jungle Trekker 2's (measure 34 inches) now and am completely stoked with them.
I'd be keeping a close eye on the 2nd hand market, you can save BIG dollars. With my Simex's I got 4 @ 98% + 1 @ 100% for $1K. Thats a HUGE saving over the brand new purchase price. Honestly you can't really go wrong with Swampers, Simex's or Silverstones.
Good luck and let us know what u finally decide on...
