Does any body know wether the engine mounts on the g10 3cyl are in the relavent spot to bolt striaght into a sierra chassis ?

a bit f digging (liteally less than 2 minutes cause i vaguely remeber seeing it on zuwharrie

I have just about finished putting the 3 cylinder geo engine in one of my sams. I found it was quite easy. The thing I did was to move the transmission up about 2 inches so that I could use the 4 cyl mounts on the 3 cyl. This way the distributor had plenty of room to clear the firewall. The oil pan will hit the diff as is , so I raised the engine up about 1" with spacers on the mounts. The shifter just needed to hole cut about 3/4" towards the front and I just put the boot back on in the new location. There is still plenty of room to shift into any gear. The drive shaft will also need to be 2 inches longer also. You will also have to get an electic fuel pump and electic radiator fan. The reason I did this was these Geo motors are only $240.00 to buy with a warranty complete. If it breaks geta new one.

did these engine come in any cars sold in australia?

yes, as a carby 1l suzuki swift. The early ones look like snub 1.3l motors and the later ones are hard to describe beccause they have a different head.

i have to agree with every thread, not much sense using the motor unless you have weigh/space concerns
(though i would love to get the ecu and intake manifold of a first gen turbo, add a amr500 supercharger and have a nice little 80hp, 120nm 1l motor with an 'economy' mode)
