Gday, Just doing some research into a coil conversion. Now I know the WMS for a bundera diff is the same as a solid axle however are the axles interchangeable?
What im getting at is the longfield options out there to strengthen the setup?

Cheers fellas for the info. I had a feeling they were the same cv's and centres just didn't think the axle lengths were the same. Will have a chat to the engineer about grafting the arms onto the existing front diff and see what he says. The last time I chatted to him he said it would be a whole lot easier to just graft a complete setup onto the front.
At least this way I can go flipped radius arms and save a bit of cash at the same time I guess.

I actually have a complete 80 series diff sitting in my back yard for just this reason. The engineer was less than happy with the difference in width between the cruiser front and IFS runner rear thoughhulsty wrote:Use all 80 series gears, wider and stonger!
Think if I did graft the links onto my current diff I would just run IFS hubs and spacers to match the rear with 80 series radius arms and mounts on the front. Would like to avoid spending the extra money on histeer though so will have to have a think.

3.0L turbo diesel, 4" lift, bud's front housing, track assasin cv's, air lokker front + Rear, beadlock'd 37 stickies, high steer, 15.5" travel ranchos, high pinion diff and coils on the rear

use 78/79 series cruiser front with 80 series hubs to take it back to 6 stud its the same width as ifs lux the cv's will be 80 series which you can get longs for and the bush at the top of the arm is eye not the pin type that bundy has so it flexes better and if your really keen you can get superior superflex arms for 78/79

all cruisers are eye radius bolts (they cost a fortune if you have to change) and bunderas are pin and mushroom bush style.
the eye bush isnt what make it flex better, it is the bush positions on the diff which make it flex better or worse. a range rover flexes better than an 80 and it has mushroom bushes front and rear.

Yeah I've heard the 79 coil fronts with the radius arms would work well. Im going to see the engineer on wednesday regarding 80 series front diff and IFS runner rear, talking to a few people they seem to think I might be able to get it passed. Failing that I'll just sell the 80 front, persevere with the standard front, fit hub spacers to match the rear and retrofit the coil gear onto the diff.
