odd noise

Post by pom300 »

when driving or when my foot is on the pedal my car seems to make a stuffed bearing noising or like a wuring noise ,it seems like its from the front, but when you put the clutch in or flick it to neutral the noise stops and the car is quiet as a mouse again,i thought it could be the pinion bearing as there is play there but cant here any noise from the rear but sound does travel i guess any theries would be appreciated

If the noise changes when you go on off the throttle then ( considering your pinion bearings are already loose) its more than likely your crown wheel and pinion that are worn. In which case you need to have the diff rebuilt.

Would be your front if your hubs were locked in or in 4wd?
