sounds right.
These will be a better all round tyre then the 9/34, but on slick mud the higher ground pressure of the 9/34 is an advantage.

Petesarmy,
simex are made by simex in malaysia, and super swampers are made by Interco in the US (or china for the LTB's) They're a different tyre.
I think you mean simex centipedes. (?)

its all about diif clearancelockdup wrote:yea mate. theres room for 35's however if anything i would go down to a 32 or 33. I think 34" tyres on a extream SWB and fairly tall car is a little dangerous. Also i think a zook on 32's will be just as capable as one on 34"s. But they do look mint. lol.
and going from 32's to 34's will give you an extra inch of clearance before you come to a stop with you wheels off the ground.
where I wheel its not uncommon to see a patrol on 36,s sitting there with the wheels in the air due to the depth of the ruts.
85 high roof 1.3, 6.5 tc, air lockers, ruf and 34 swampers. yep its an ugly pos.
Thats true, however a sierra still has good diff clearance on 32's. but ofcourse an extra inch cant hurt. the only times ive been stuck are when i got hung up on my diffs, and thats on 34's. I heard a sierra on 34's has approx the same diff clearance as a patrol on 36-37's.

Well my Simex pede's served me well on the weekend, 1st place Modified class in Mud Guts and Glory Rocks '09. They are the 32x9.5r15's let down to 6psi in the front and 5 in the back, without beadlocks and we didn't break a bead all weekend and are still holding pressure the following day. They easily got grip and took a fair hammering.
I was planning on buying some 34 inch LTB's but I'm not so sure whether to change or not now

thats got about the same clearance as mine - and no, 34's wont fit unless you lift the guards up... it will fit under the arch, but any kind of upward travel will see them scrubbing to bits.
ive been running 31" cooper STTs which have been a brilliant tyre - however due to their clogging up in mud i've now gone the other extreme and chosen simex pedes in a 31" (measure 32")... they should arrive tomorrow and hopefully i can have a good crack at them on the weekend!

I wanted to go up to a 34, just not sure whether to get rid of a tyre that has worked well for me for LTB's or not.
