snorkel for a v8 60 series

Post by kranky al »

im planning on doing the stainless steel thing in the next coupla days - id like to put one of those truck air filters on the roof - any particular thing i should look out for / avoid like the plague?

i guess a truck place would be the best place to get it - do you still get the ram air effect?

thanks

no street driven car ever gets any ram effect, its a myth unless you have a huge scoop and are doing 200mph on a regular basis

I reckon you will be better placed to fit an airbox under the hood and then run a stainless snorkel to feed it.

What capacity is the V8 in litres?

If it's a 5.0 or similar, maybe look at fitting a Nissan 4.8 airbox or similar, whatever fits and is big enough basically.

Id use the standard air box from the 60 and plumb it to the engin then make up the staino tube snorkel and run it up the drivers side just like the ARB jobbie if ya do it right ya should only need 1 rubber join the pipe made to fit and the safari type head ....
Cheers

Twin stainless custom snorkels with safari heads!!
Forget the airbox up top like on milo, thats best left to a 40 series old fellers rig.

Plumbing is easy to a V8 for a twin setup.
Get out there!!
