2006 Hilux Single Cab Swap

Post by mhanger »

Hi all,

recently finished a SAS on my '88 4 runner (see pic) and am really enjoying the truck, but after driving my '08 Hilux company car around for a week, ive taken a liking to the cab and am desperite to fit a new model hilux body to the old girl.

Does anyone have any info? ive searched but havent found a thing, so i thought i would start a thread and see what everyone thought.

Thanks in advance for any help.

This might give you an idea of what i will be fitting the cab to, an '88 hilux surf (2LT) 2.4TD, LN61 chassis.

I looked into it and they are a fair bit wider than your current chassis, in the end I went with an 04 style to make it all fit easier. I found that the extra width etc of the cab was better suited to an 80 chassis with 80 diffs etc. Your current width for example would require a large offset to see it come to the edge of the guard etc.

If you do go ahead with it though I will be watching with interest
