hilux front end bearing/seal kit?

Post by .MYTLUX. »

i vaguely remember people speaking of a kit, anyone know how much? what it consists of, instructions etc..?

i have grease/oil seeping from my swivel hubs, which seal do i need to replace to fix this, the one at the cv or behind the wheel bearing? or both does the kit have both?

also while im pulling this apart i will clean up and regrease the free wheel hub, do i have to pack it with grease or just coat the componets in grease?

i know people have said this is a bitch of a job, but i aint payin someone, and hopefully ill learn a few things ( as a complete novice)

cheers

i done my swivel hubs not long back not a hard job but a bloody messy one i think the kit i got was a "4wd systems" and it gives you the whole lot all seals, top and bottom swivel bearing and new shims

just make note of how many shims are on the top and bottom when you remove the king pins

In case your interested, there's a guy on ebay who sells complete bearing and seal kits for both sides for $89. I don't know about instructions etc.

repco will sell the kits, might be worth getting a wheel bearing kit at the same time, from memory, you end up with a few extra seals but if you pull your front end down a few times to play with diffs and cvs you go through them quick
