Recaro's are nice.
$400 seats from Autobahn etc generally get very uncomfortable after 30mins.

I've got second hand Recaro's from an Isuzu Bighorn. It takes a bit of modification to make then fit due to a GQ's horrible seat mounting setup but they are very good seats and pretty readily available.

I have Aerotech seats in mine for about 4 years now and they are great. No wear and they are very comfy. They are over your price range, if I remember right they cost me about 900ea.

take a run to a wreckers that does grey imports, they have some shit hot seats.. got some for my ute yrs bck for few hundred... needed a clean up, but seatcovers fixed that

I have heard but never checked this that 300zx seats bolt in, would make sense if nissan used seats or atleasts mounts in several models, these would work for a shorty aswell.

i put some SAAS seats from Autobarn in mine, $1000 retail so they say but on special for 650 for the pair, shitloads better than the standard puss seats!

STi seats are about the most uncomfortable seats you could possibly want for a 4x4. IMO.

You want a little bit of foam in a 4x4.. the WRX STi seats have none of this. They just clamp you in :p

which is what a lot of people like.. nothing worse than being thrown around in the cab against doors and shit...

Oh no no they hold you in perfectly but they've got very little decent insulation on them so there'll be alot more vibration and every movement of the cabin will be sent through your body.

Not fun.

Might suit those who have abit more padding than myself.. But I'm a rake so I'm not so sure. :p

I've got a Prelude seat in mine (haven't fitted the wife's seat yet, it's only been a couple of years ) and it's comfy due to it wrapping around your waist but it tapers in at the top so it doesn't wrap around your shoulders. It was the only seat that didn't squash my shoulders forward when I sat in it. Apparently they are not the strongest seat due to all the adjustment tabs but I'm 120kgs and it's held up to me bouncing around in it so far. Only problem is the foam lip that holds your legs in the seat has been destroyed from me sliding over it to get out of the car.

autotechnica seats work well in a gq, can get rails for them and are a pretty easy fit to a gq cost 198 each from repco and about 40 per rail .

just unbolt the sliders off the seats , drill 2 holes in the inner slider to match the threaded bolt holes in the prelude seat , the outer rail needs a spacer of about 25mm or so , a piece of 25mm box steel should do fine , and some longer bolts to suit

it is a very easy swap , although the seat does sit very close to the door

I have a Monza from autobarn fitted by Cheesy for $150 folds forward and is yer comfy on long trips, Queens bithday weekend drove from Croydon to walhulla and back all in a day trip prob 11 hrs in the seat. all good.
They also have just remodled the seats and imo I think they new seats are better

92'' holden barina hatch, its a sports model but not sure of the the name, comfy as & fit really neat & easy!!! probably around $200 bucks from a wrecker
