bell housing pattern for VQ30

Post by patrol man »

Any body know what bell housing pattern the nissan v6 VQ30 use, Is it the same as the rb28, will it bolt up to a 2.8 GU patrol gear box?
are the flywheels / clutches the same?
If any one has fitted a rb25det to a GU gear box is there any issues with the flywheel spacing,(by not using the dual mass flywheel)
the motor I am looking at is a VQ30det,
just pondering the next project!

As far as I have read. Someone correct me if wrong. Rb 26 and 25 will bolt to the same gearbox as the rb 30 and rd 28. Also read that VQ30 would also bolt on, only read this is one place could not find anyone to confirm this though.
I thought about the same thing myself, currently have a rb 30 powered patrol. Or should I say under powered patrol.
I dissmised the idea as the rb gearbox is not the strongest, mines on its last legs. Both the rb and Vg engines make there power higher in the rev range, not the best suited to a 4x4.
If going the auto route there a adaptors from castlemain rod shop for rb 30 too turbo 700.
Have you tryed searching Rice burner web sites ?
A vg30dett in anying would be a lot of fun
Anything is possible, it just comes down to time and money.

it will fit, but you will have to bolt your VQ bellhousing to the rd28 gearbox/trans
