windscreen? leaks on a cj

Post by macca81 »

hey all,

venturing into the jeep section on behalf of my step father, please be gentle :P

he has just dragged me out into the shed where he has pulled down the roof lining in his 95 cj. across the entire width of the roof section and extending about 400mm back from the windscreen is a whole lot of condensation, to the point that the water droplets are the size of heavy raindrops.

he pulled the lining after he had water dripping from the top of the windscreen onto the steering column after any rain. after a decent look, neither of us can see where it is coming in.

so, i was wondering if there are any spots in this area that are prone to leaking, and has anyone had this problem to a similar degree before?

cheers,
Macca

if its as CJ it aint a 95

CJ's leak here very common

1. Check the seal in the air intake box on the cowl lots of water under the dash from this
2. replace cowl/windscreen seal wooders has them in stock
3. check glass seal and replace if required
