Where to buy Autometer EGT Gauges?
Im looking to get an EGT gauge , and in particular An Autometer (Sport Comp) to match the boost gauge.
Just wondering if anyone has purchased one of these, and where you got it from. A price would also be good!
Were you happy with the service, was everything included in the kit?
Is the installation straight forward?
Thanks
Mike

Hey mate,
A couple of weeks ago a bought a Autometer Sport-Comp Pyro 2 5/8.
A got it from Performance-r-us on fleabay. Cost was $225 delivered. I like the price. Autobarn quoted $400 for the same one. It came in a kit with everything.
You just need to tap the manifold. I dont know if its any good cause I haven't installed it yet. My Sport-Comp boost gauge does the job nicely so the pyro should be good to. Are you going pre or post turbo with the probe?
Cheers.

Yeah its in Farenheit. Doesn't really matter. Goes up to 1600F.
What sort of engine/turbo have you got? I have a spot in the dump pipe but I think the manifolds have similar holes to tap. MUD has heaps of info on the procedure in the 70's section.
Not sure why it says 600F on its not turned on. Its an electric gauge so it should reset itself when I plug it in. I'm waiting on some clutch parts and will install the probe when the clutch and brake master are out to give me more room to work.
Cheers.

Ive got the Autometer sport comp boost & pyro gauges.
The Autometer pyro reacts very fast to the engine. The needle will stop in a random location when there is no power going to it. As soon as there is power, it reads correct. Everything you need is included in the box with it.
Rocket Industries are the Australian distributers so check them out. They will be able to get the metric pyro for you.

THE SMOKER YOU DRINK THE DANCER YOU GET
Pyro is 45mm past turbo on dump pipe.Gav75 wrote:Hey Skeg,
Do you have the pyro pre or post turbo?
Do you reckon it matters?
Cheers.
It reacts pretty fast to what I'm doing.
It doesn't realy matter as long as you take into consideratrion the heat lost through the turbo. Back it off when the temp gets to 550c and you won't have issues.

But they are plain, ugly and it wont match the boost gauge!!money_killer wrote:buy a vdo one alot cheaper
burdy - I love the look of the pro-comp gauges! Had a pro comp boost gauge in an LX Torana but thought the sport comp's suit the cruiser better.
me3 - i like how you have your gauges mounted, i'll have my boost and egt in the same place (no fuel pressure) but mounted in black cups.
I have contacted summit, rocket, egauges and performance-r-us!! just waiting for a quote now.
Thanks
Mike
i got water temp and pyro off eguages.com. happy with service, delivery time and price! think i paid $180 for the metric 2"1/6 pyro "sport comp" range. no problems ordering online and got a tracking number promptly.
didnt get to install it this weekend but discovered I need to find a step up as the bung in the dump pipe is too big for what came with the pyro...

Mine is boost - not fuel (despite the label)mike_nofx wrote:

I couldn't get a 0-15 PSI boost gauge. Didn't want 30PSI - not enough resolution. Didn't want vacuum / boost - not enough resolution.
The fuel pressure gauge was 0-15 - so I used it for boost.
Works well.
