Hi guys just wondering what size turbo you guys run on your petrol/gas turbo conversion? how does it run ? does the turbo handle it or is it working hard? i did do a search but i think you all know how crap the search function is. thanks for your time. Todd

gt35/40 on strait gas and its doing the job easy :cool:

When does it come on boost RPM wise?
How much boost are you running?
Intercooler?
Economy?

Looking to turbo a TB42 in the near future and looking to put on gas also.
So this is all good info.

highflow t3/4 from vl, 0.82 rear housing - good for over 150rwkw's, full boost just under 2 grand.
Got the turbo for bugger all, if I had my choice it would be the gt35/40 for sure.

could you run straight petrol turbo? with a carb? i know the tb42e would be a better option with an aftermarket computer etc. straight gas is awesome dont get me wrong but wanting to get away for a few days away from civilisation is still do able with petrol, where straight gas limits it down quite a bit.

boost comes in around 2500, only running 7 psi :cool:

600x300x75 front mount intercooler

got 2x115 litre tanks and get around 650kms out of them

Give PGS a call Joel really knows how to tune them good :)

yeah gt35/40r is same turbo as ba falcon xr6 runs, equivelent size engine should be perfect.. should cost about $1900 for a real new one...

out of both, but thats giving it a fair bit of right foot, i was suprised with the result though, i think its a pretty good result seeing as that i have two b2 converters and both my tanks are running at the same time

lol im lucky enough to have an ba xr6 turbo ute to :P and yeh it was around 1900-2 grand new

A highflowed T3 from a VL, is good for 230rwkw, i just got mine done last week :D .

Best $800 i've spent, can't beat the price and performance IMHO

OK, sort of new to the Gas thing, so by running 2 converters it's more likely to be mre thirsty? Is that like running twin webers instead of a single weber???

Is this the only way it will recieve enough gas to properly power the donk?

The convertors are what supply the mixer with gas, much in the same way that a secondary/pressure fuel pump works in an EFI car. Sometimes one gas converter just can't supply enough fuel to the mixer, so you put another converter in and bridge the vapour lines. This will make twice the amount of gas available to the mixer if needed.

A lot of large displacement mild V8's need two converters simply due to the huge amount of flow they have/need.

B.D.R, Sorry in advance for all the questions!

What else are you running? Cam, head work, other engine mods etc
What tyre size?
What boost?
What exhaust housing size?
What exhaust manifold?
What ecu or ignition setup?
What type of intercooler setup?
What fuel?
When do you hit full boost?

Mine has made just under 180atw's with 16psi on 35's on a Dyno Dynamics dyno.

Would luv to know what is required for 230!

haven't tried yet, the ,mixtures were good on both fuels, didn't even touch the timing. when i can pry the car back off my wife i'll have a play with boost and see what the mixtures do.

Quadcamshorty, The motor is an RB30et.

My motor has'nt got that power yet :twisted: .

My tuner has shown me dyno result's for this motor, and Hypergear rate this Turbo at 230rwkw and good for 20 pound.

Soon to go on mine
Nistune, 440cc injectors , new fuel pumps + reg. Z32 AFM

Should be good for 200+ acording to the tuner :armsup: .

Will let you know how it goes :cool:

Talk to Joel or James at pgs. they certainly know know their stuff.

I am running a T3 cheapo turbo with .70 exhaust.
Smallish turbo but I wanted it to spool up quickly, it boosts up as soon as you put your foot down their is NO lag whatsoever which is what I wanted for the bush.
It makes 135rwkw on PGS's dyno (one of the only ones no to fudge the figures to make you feel special) :D :D
It makes peak power at 3200 rpm and drops off at around 4200 rpm
and 1090 Nm of Torque at 1852rpm. :shock:

I could definately make more rwkw with a bigger turbo but its not all about numbers for me as I wanted something that when I put my foot down it would go, not think about it for a few seconds before spooling.

mines 160rwkw on PGS' dyno, capable of 210rwkw with same set up and with a brand new head as Joel has said the rockwell test on mine didnt come back the best :cry:

but im happy with my power for now lol
