help with spring packs for 40series spring over.

Post by AUSDOG »

Its almost time for the spring over on my bj42. I'm using 60s diffs and 60s springs. Just wondering what people have done with there spring packs in a similar situation. Rears up front AND back, which leaves to take out etc.. or should i just chuck em in as is and see how it goes. I want as much flex as possible and the truck sitting as low as possible. The springs in the pic are standard and i never seen them in the truck they came out of, but look like they should sit pretty flat when in. The top springs are fronts and the bottom ones the rear. lettuce know what ya think.

I would take out at least 1 leaf out of each to start with as the 40 is lighter. I have 60 series rears in mine but custom fronts. I am not sure on how many leafs I have in my rears.
I would also get different leaf pack clamps, get ones that will allow the packs to seperate. They are normally a straight U shape with a top cross bolt.

ive got about one or two leafs less than in your pic in my SOA 60 series, flexs good, the only thing is the front tramps a little some times as the leaf pack is alot softer, also my springs sit pritty close to flat in the car, clears 35's easy, and holds its feet on the ground on pritty big angles :)
