Hey, wondering which you guys think is the best option...buying an 1hdt sahara or a 1hdft gxl?I understand the sahara has a lot of nice comfort features but is the 1thdft gxl that much better....Thanks

Better motor, better body (steel bits in flares) later gxl got same body deadening as earlier sahara...bigger brakes....the list goes on, but you wont find one cheap, they are about 10k more than a early sahara...theres a sahara 97 on carpoint dot com for 30k
Early motor is quite a good motor if you can live with doing bigends every cambelt change....

Been looking at the same thing. The sahara's have a few extra features (climate control instead of norm ac, sunroof etc) But the main thing is the E lockers (toyota electric lockers) Id get the later model gxl with less k's and better engine + better resale in my opinion. And if you still want them put some air lockers in it. 94 and on are better...

Even better would be a 90 model Sahara that's been upgraded to the bigger brakes, later flares and fitted with the 1HD-FTE.

The thought has crossed my mind. Hardly used it since getting it and given the price that GXL TD's seem to be chasing I was tossing up the idea. not sure. Currently putting the rear end back in after new bearings and seals so will see after it's back on the road.

Had been wondering what it would fetch with new rear end, all new slotted later brakes, new paint (bought a little while ago), later wider flares, chipped up FTE. Have to be worth a few grand more than a GXL :?: but then what to buy instead. Mark 2 Range Rover HSE ??
