Door switch for interior light? does it exist? Coily Sierra

Post by paulv »

Have a soft top coily sierra.

The wiring diagram I have indicates the interior light is controlled by a door switch, AND that there is a door warning buzzer.

Can't find the door switch anywhere.

Admittedly the wiring diagram is for a US model, and the car is Aust.

Does the door switch exist?
Both passenger and drivers door?
Where abouts should I be looking?

The wiring in the roof indicates there could be door switched, one wire is live all the time, and the other is neither live nor earth..

yer the interior light is run of the drivers side door switch, open the door and up the front there will be a black button switch which earths when the door opens to tern the light on, its only on the drivers side door.

only drivers door in aus, and no warning buzzer, US wiring diagram not relevant to coilies as they never came out over there, and it's just below the door limiting strap in there, and it probly has a bad contact with the body like the always do if it is not working lol.

Right.

Thanks folks. Much appreciated.

Yep, found the little switch where you said it was.
And it is contact is pretty corroded, so I had better buy a new one or clean it up.

Looks like there is blanking plug on the passengers side, in exactly the same spot, so I might put one on that side too if I can find new ones.

I thought these guys would list them - www.suzistore.com.au
But they don't. Bugger.

Anyone had to purchase one before?

Yes, they are available new.

$13.20 + GST each from my local Suzuki dealer.

Have ordered 2.
Hopefully will have interior light activated by both doors soon!
