Vitara ARB Air Locker Switches

Post by atari4x4 »

Hey Peoples, I'm in the process of installing arab air lockers & compressor & I was wondering where you have put the switches.

I have a few blanks on the RHS of the wheel, some photos of other Vitara set ups would be nice. :D

The early Vits are different to yours. In my 2.0 I have the front and rear switches in the blanks on LHS of the wheel and the compressor on the RHS.

Yeah I knew they were a bit different, I wonder if anyone has done anything custom?

I've got a bank of switches on the LHS & 2 blanks left on RHS I was thinking about ditching the switch for the ghay rear fog lights....

Dont know about the Vitaras, but people not only put them in spaces in dash. You can also blank off a heater vent and put switches there, or inside glove compartment/centre console, custom brackets, etc...

I've been thinking about custom, on the LHS I have a bank of switches. I have got a 2nd DIN hole that will be getting a UHF. The other option is the coin holder thingo on the shifter console.

i'm not sure what the short wheelbase interior is like as oposed to the LWB,

but in my lwb vitara there are a few switch spaces on the compartment behind the 4wd lever just in front of hte rear pwr window switches.

Thats where i've put mine, nice and convenient next to the offroad stuff

If youre vitara is anything like the above picture, then bugger off the ashtray and make a panel to fit over the hole. Should easily fit switches.
This is what i did in Sierra, hope it helps. After this photo, i added ARB compressor switch below the others on the panel.

Get rid of the ridiculous clock in the full DIN position under the radio and put them in there?

Yeah thats the plan, a DIN sized UHF will go in there! I'm thinking along side of the gear shifter in the console or in the coin holder thingo below the shifter.

The ash tray could be put to good use, it had never been used & when I got the zook I carpeted the inside of it & I only use it to hold change.

You've even got the ARB sticker too.

Do you have trouble driving as your gearbox is the wrong way around, judging by your gearstick :D :D :D

I paid for the sticker & got a free air locker, I just change gears with my right hand & it's fine.....
