metal fabricators in ACT

Post by jimny_99 »

Hey guys,
looking at doing a custom front bar for my zook jimny as ARB are bit expensive for me. And as my metal work skills are only limited(high school stuff) i am looking for someone who could help me. probably looking at a tubular design like the ones on the wranglers etc.

Does any body know of anybody in the canberra region that does this type of stuff, or should i just go thru the yellow pages and ask all the metal workers.

Cheers

Rod Kilby (in the yellow pages) does good work.

I doubt it will be cheaper than ARB though. Depends how fancy you want i suppose.

I was thinking the same thing.

Is Cal Offroad still going in Berridale? He specialises in this sort of thing.

If you can get hold of Wendle he may be able to help you.

Hadofen in QBN would be able to bend up all your tube, then all you ned is someone to weld it up for ya. Depends if you were wanting to mount a winch etc this would determine how much time to fab mounts, brackets.

i believe he's under lochleigh enterprises

he does heaps of tube work and he's usally pretty fast but he is a bit of a drive as he's out towards Hall .

yeah cal offroad in berridale is still going but again thats even further .

wendle is close but he's probably sic of bar work by now .

there is a fella in queanbeyan that did all of travis's bar work i believe and it looks good not sure who though . (useless info i know)

anyway you go it will only be cheap if you do it yourself .

you could also talk to eddie off mitchell off road he's bar work is really nice , but i think it might have been done via rob kilby ? won't hurt to call him anyways . or try hume off road but again i think they use rob kilby .

good luck

I think his name is Eric, Custom Fabrications or something like that. Ring Absolute Towing and ask Travis, I'm pretty his workshop is at Trav's yard. He put a corolla 5k and volvo gearbox in a mate's Sierra recently.

Rod Kilby is also very good, he's dones heaps of mate's cages in their street and drag cars, I'll probably get him to make some stuff for my patrol. He's nice and quick aswell, normally knocks a rollcage over in a couple of days.

Unless you are after something very, very basic, you can't expect to have a custom made item supplied cheaper than a mass produced product.
