hey i was just wondering what you do about having backstays for the internal cage when you have a ute cab and run backstays in accordence with cams
because i dont think a external hoop with backstays outside the cab counts with cams but it dose with ccda ?
can anyone enlighten me on this ?

Pretty sure as per CCDA regs you can have a 4-point in the cab, and 4-point on the tray.

Jump onto the CCDA site and see, they have examples on how you can do it in their rulebook.

you can have a hoop on tray but it must join onto the internal cage with bushes, the way they sugested i do it was just run stays down to the chassis joined onto the internal cage with bushes

No the 2 seperate cages is CCDA spec not CAMS

used through rear of cab bulkhead or two separate roll cages shall be constructed.
The main rollbar in the cabin shall be within 150mm of the occupants’ heads but shall not
overhang the occupants. If there is insufficient room within the cabin the two diagonal cross braces
may be within the main roll bar to the rear of the cab.

im trying to decide what sort of cage i want too, need as much space inside as i can get....GQ single cab

im picking my truck up from PGS tomoro i will post some pics of my cage, the ,main hoop and taxi bar is on the tray, the bars running up the pillar run out the through the roof and join onto the tray hoop with bushes. and my harnesses run through a perspex back window and mount onto the taxi bar on the tray.

but your not allowed to have a perspex windo on the road it has to be laminex shatter proof stuff....

engineer here told me your not at all because it has to meet the australian standard and have the marking on it for windscreens and perspex dose not....? anyway getting of track

I'm surprised perspex is allowed, as it can shatter into dangerous peices. Lexan is used in drag racing as it does not shatter. As far as I know not legal for road use though

rang cams office now and it dosnt comply but i supose that dosnt matter for you they said to me the hoop must be 150mm from the occupants head AND the backstays must be connected directly to the hoop with a 30 degreen angle back...

witch means i have to work out how to do this ..........
