75 Series Seats

I guess thats why they brought out the 79 series cab.
The japs are little people so when they designed the 75's they probably thought it had ample room.

Dont know about the steering wheel hub for the sports steering wheel, but is it possible to cut the hub shorter and redrill the holes for the wheel to screw back on. Might help give you more straight arm length.
Thinking of doing this with my hub as its rather thick.

I have monza bucket seats in my 75. When I had a BJ74 i had the same seats and because the steering wheel was so big i couldnt fit my legs under it... Had to get a sports steering wheel.

Were you able to get a wheel that fits the cruiser spline or did you need a wheel boss. If you used a boss how much distance did you loose? cheers gazza

Had to get a boss kit for it. The bj74 steering wheel is that big, i swear when they stole the engine out of the coaster for it, they decided to steal the steering wheel as well..

I think it gave me about another 4 or 5 inchs leg clearence

Cheers mate, My bad, I meant the arm length distance. I tried mine with a different wheel and boss and it cut the reach down close to 75mm. Steering wheel way too close to be comfortable. thanks

Go to bunnings and buy there velour style car carpet.
Dont use the marine carpet, its crap for cars..

Did roof and door trims. Glued it on with quick grip. No need to put foam under it its thick enough.
This is before electric windows.

This one glued onto very thin foam then onto steel. Stops you getting the rib marks from the shape of the roof.

Right well I finally got around to doing my commodore seats with the commodore rails to utilise the electronic height/tilt adjustment.

My verdict is: It's a cool idea, but it's stupid. You end up sitting WAY higher than standard and my head sits above the door jam. I'm 5'8" so compared to mounting the seats to the standard rails it seems silly.

This weekend I will be ripping out what I have done and mounting the seats to the standard rails.

If anyone would like some pics just for the sake of it let me know. And if you want some drivers side rails modded to fit a 70 series they're all yours, ha ha.

Mate would you have info on what elec window motor and set up you used etc were you get it and how much also love the door trims how much is the velour worth a mtr

Just fitted Honda Prelude Seats into my 75 - sit a little higher,not too much though, the ride feels ALOT better than the flogged out standard seats. Just have to finish the centre console.

An update - today i spent about 9 hours in my ute, wasn't sore at all - seats are comfy. Only drama is the left foot not fitting next to clutch pedal, leg gets a bit uncomfortable not being able to go out straight in front. Driving barefoot is fine, workboots no good. I might look into modding the clutch pedal arm to make more room, or maybe see if there's room to mod the floor for a bigger cavity next to the pedal.

Good read this guys as my seat is rooted & not even 4 years old..

I am 187cm & 105 kilo though I like the look of the honda seats & dunnydore must be shit loads more comfy...

how the hell do you remove/pull out the door latch so you can take off the large vinyl door cover?

i've gotten the window winder handle and door handle off, but even after undoing the screw on the door latch it doesnt want to come off.

that one screw in the middle is the only thing holding it in, dont forget there is a fairly thick wire attached to the back of it... so maybe that is getting cought on the door frame?

I have a VP Senator and it has great seats [diff to ordinary seats] and I sat one in the drivers position and it is then way too close to the steering wheel
unless you are a small bloke. My opinion only the HJ75 needs a smaller seat than a Holden. I was thinking of seats from a Subaru but the Honda seats look cool. Regards

yer i agree, im 6ft and i have a combination of the steering wheel sitting up tad higher and the seat abit forward with the back rest as far ba ck as possible to get my knees under the steering wheel comfortably .
