can someone tell me
do all the 1.3 l engines use the same timing belt?
i think my 85 seirra has a later engine
if the same can someone give mr a dayco part number?
and what's the service interval on the belt?
im just changing it as I have a water pump to do.

85 high roof 1.3, 6.5 tc, air lockers, ruf and 34 swampers. yep its an ugly pos.
I just did the cam belt in my sierra.
I went to an auto parts shop and asked for a cam belt for a 95 sierra, they looked up their catalogue and gave me a timing belt kit:
Kit: KTBA067
which has
Belt: 94103 (square teeth)
I pulled the old belt off my engine and went to fit the new one and realised they were not the same, the belt on the engine had round teeth.
I had to go on the dayco website and browse their catalogue to find the correct belt that i needed. I ended up with:
Kit: KTBA241
which has
Belt: 94147 (round teeth)
Everything else in the kit is the same as the square teeth kit (seals, tensioner bearing etc). Dayco list the KTBA241 as suitable for the 93-95 Suzuki Swift/Holden Barina.
So beware, the dayco catalogue is not correct for the later model sierra engines that have round teeth - my engine is the original one that came in my 1995 model sierra so dayco should really have the correct listing for it.
If you are not sure what you have i suggest pulling the cover off and checking the belt before you buy a replacement.

If your front pully has 5 bolts its going to be a round tooth belt and if its a 4 bolt it will be a square tooth, stick your fingers into the pully count the numbers of bolts and you should know what type of belt you have. im not sure of the part number but any good part place should be able to say if its round or square tooth belt on the part number.

So can anyone tell me, to remove the crank pulley to get the timing cover off do I need to remove the centre bolt or just the 4 outer bolts ? If it makes a difference I am running a double V-pulley out of Swift I think ?
